Package Specifics

I accept only one wedding per weekend. This means not only am I available to attend your rehearsal the day before, but also that I can cover all the festivities on your wedding day without having to slip out early to prepare for another wedding the next day.

Maine WeddingIn the planning stage, I will respond as quickly as I can any time you have questions or concerns or need help regarding any aspect of your wedding. I understand how difficult it can be to plan a wedding long distance and am happy to recommend other professionals who will render outstanding services.

Before the wedding, I work with you to set up a timetable for when I will be onsite on the wedding day; the exact hours of coverage depend upon the package chosen. Typically I arrive while the bride and her attendants and/or family are getting ready; my assistant typically arrives when the groom and his attendants and/or family members are getting ready. We (my assistant and I) stay with our respective parties as they prepare. During the ceremony we photograph from opposite vantage points to capture our two distinctive view points of the ceremony. After the ceremony one of us will go immediately to the cocktail reception while the other takes the formal family and wedding party groups. If you have a separate area for a seated reception, one of us will also photograph the details there before your guests enter the tent or room. Then, when the party moves to dinner, we both cover the opening festivities such as toasts, first dance, etc. The ending point of the coverage depends on the package chosen, and we will coordinate that with you to make sure we can photograph all the important events before leaving.

All of our images are captured on digital media. After each wedding,we will spend up to forty office hours prepping images, organizing photos and creating online galleries. I firmly believe that devoting this much time to each wedding translates into a superior end product - and wonderful memories - for you.

The final product is definitely edited. We remove outtakes, e.g., a frame where eyes were closed, a flash didn't go off, someone walked in front of the camera when the photographer was shooting, etc., and duplicates of other frames, before posting the online gallery. Even with the editing you should expect at least 70 images per hour of coverage. These photos will be posted online so you can share them with family and friends. You will also receive a CD of the gallery for viewing offline (useful for sharing with family and friends who do not have high-speed access and for emailing, posting on facebook, etc.) You also receive a slide show of your pictures.

As soon as your bill is paid in full you are free to spend your purchase credit; it can be used for parent albums, custom enlargements, etc. (You can also use the credit to extend the initial photography coverage--for an engagement session, rehearsal party coverage, additional hours of wedding coverage.)

A signed wedding contract with a $1500 retainer reserves your date. One-half of the remaining estimated balance is due one month prior to the wedding, and I will bill you for the balance when I post your proofs online. If any product is delivered in Maine, I am required to collect a 5% sales tax on the entire contract. A contract, which is signed on booking, outlines these and other terms.

Package Specifics

I enjoy travel and always welcome the opportunity to work at new venues throughout the state of Maine and beyond. Our packages include up to 200 miles of round-trip travel from my base in Brunswick, Maine, just east of Portland. That means there is no extra charge for travel to weddings in The Blue Hill Peninsula, the Camden-Rockport-Rockland area, the Boothbay Harbor Region, the Greater Portland area, the Southern Maine Coast including Kennebunkport and York or the Western Mountains Region of Maine, which includes Bethel.

When round-trip travel exceeds 200 miles, the excess miles are charged at 60¢ per mile. Please ask for a custom estimate on the travel expenses for weddings outside of Maine.

For out-of-town weddings, add the actual cost of lodging for the night of the rehearsal, which allows me to stay over after attending your rehearsal. Lodging for the wedding night is also advisable if your reception is ending so late that I cannot return home before midnight. While it is fun to stay where most of your guests are staying, I realize that couples' budgets are limited and am happy to stay at budget accommodations in the area.

If you are having a large wedding (more than 150 guests) and want an extensive number of candid shots of guests, or if you want a large number of posed shots but don't want to give up the photojournalistic portion of the coverage, you might consider having us add an additional shooting assistant to your team (for a three-person photography team), which will allow us to add to our coverage. We would be glad to give you a special quote for that service.

If you have activities which should last longer than package hours or if you have additional parties leading up to or following the wedding day, I can customize a quote to take in extra events. If you have specific needs which are not addressed in this information, please bring them to my attention. I often have access to items and services not specifically mentioned on the web site.
